Loved this episode! Great animation, lots of Yuko and a pissed off Fay Wang Reed and a nice visual of Clow Reed! The story moved along very nicely and looks like it's wrapping up next week.
I especially liked how the other Syaoran's arc is going. Such a suprise to see him controlling
our Syaoran in the manga and still suprising to see in the anime. Just worked really well.
No complaints at all about 35. Keep it up Bee Train!

Just had the tv playing in the background and suddenly heard Kurogane's theme from
the first soundtrack playing in the background for a Japanese medical documentary.
Most Japanese shows use random background music, so this isn't exactly groundbreaking. A few weeks back I heard the Pokemon Centre theme play on a game show when the contestants came on board.

Just finished watching Tsubasa Chronicle 34 and loved it. I was amazed at how much from the manga they put into one episode without missing anything (as far as I can recall). Mokona was great (actually serious for once), Fay looked very cool when looking at the sky (very little wierdly drawn Fay this week thank God), and we got some great new epic instrumental pieces that really brought to life this battle in the sky. Speaking of which I was really impressed with the effect shown when everyone got transported to the sky castle. Really well done and original.
Next week looks great with an appearance by Yuko and several events that lead up to the conclusion of the recently released,
Tsubasa reservoir Chronicle #9 which means that from Episode 36 onwards, all the storylines will be suprising (unless you read spoilers, but you shouldn't).
Bring it on!

Nothing major, but I adapted the episode listings on the right to match my
xxxHolic site so that the episode titles and numbers are now shown. Makes navigation a lot more visual and easier I think.
This week I'll
really be trying to get the season 2 episode guide up to date. If it seems like I'm not doing much work on this site, keep in mind that I'm working on Loop,
Link (my xxxHolic site) and
Moonkitty.NET (my Sailor Moon site) all concurrently. Plus I have a full time job, a gym membership and a social life to maintain.
It's a good thing I'm addicted to web design, eh? ;)

This was a rather interesting episode. It was very faithful to the manga arc but featured enough creative changes to keep those who know the manga interested and honestly suprised by the cliffhanger ending which ends with the earthquake like in the manga, but also includes a shocking situation with Sakura and a hidden love that I found unusual at first but very fitting.
I've noticed a
lot of people on certain Tsubasa and CLAMP forums and journals bitching about every tiny little thing that isn't the same as the manga. All I can say to these people is, "Get over it". Seriously, look at all the changes in Card Captor Sakura and that series still rocked. Hell, they even created Meilin entirely for the anime and the show actually got better because of this. Bee Train is probably making one of the most accurate manga to anime adaptions I've seen, however part of the reason the first season dragged so much was because of how close they were sticking to the original storyline.
Almost everyone will agree that the second season is leaps and bounds better than the first and while the improved animation is part of the reason, the script is another main reason. Piffle was done in
three episodes and it was a lot more enjoyable because of this. Look at some of the arcs in the first season, they were in some worlds for 5+ episodes sometimes which got boring very fast. This Ashura arc seems to be going for about 4 episodes which seems about right. Frankly I want the show to be enjoyable first before accuracy. This is why I love the fillers and creative changes in existing arcs. I'm reading the manga, I don't want to see the exact same thing on screen. I want to be suprised! Honestly, when I see a next week preview that features and original world, I'm so much more excited than I would be with a manga world adaption. Afterall, I know what's going to happen in the manga world.
I didn't get this feeling with this episode though. I've read
Tsubasa #8 where this episode happened and I was still suprised and entertained when watching this episode and I can't wait for next week!

Wow... I LOVED this episode! Seriously, this second season of Tsubasa Chronicles is really changing my opinion (and I hope yours) of how great anime-only stories and worlds can be!
In today's ep we get an Italian influenced world with magic, knights and a princess plus some great characterisation of Fay which gives him so much more depth than what he's had so far in the anime. Parts of his past with Ashura and Chi are both touched upon with some great animation (the best this season!) plus a new vocal song towards the end (sounded very .Hack//ish).
5/5 stars all around! Just great in every way! The whole episode felt like watching a mini movie with it's pacing and mix of action, romance and drama. I still can't believe how great this second season is.
Next week we return to manga inspired arcs with the begining of the massive Ashura storyline! Let's hope they keep the pace up like they did with the Piffle arc.
p.s. Anyone seen Miyuki this season? I havn't seen her in one episode!
