Tsubasa Chronicle Episode 31 Impression
I'm really digging this second season! The writers seem to feel a lot more free in what they do with the characters and story, unlike the first season which was sometimes
too literal in it's interpretation.
Here we have this season's second anime-only world which appears to be ocean themed and very well animated (another improvement over the first season). The gang land right in the ocean (something that I'm suprised the manga hasn't done actually) and they are quickly rescued by a boat which is run by the evil sorceror from the Korean world. It appears that he's actually a nice guy in this world and has employed a little younger version of Syaoran's father, Fujitaka! This gives us some great insight into Syaoran's character, something the first season didn't do and even the manga struggles to do well at times. Besides the fact that he's determined and loves Sakura... he doesn't have that much going for him. Here we get to see him think about his father for the first time since the first episode! Kudos to BeeTrain! (never thought I'd say that). We also get to see Syaoran use more of his archaelogical side. Again, kudos!
I really enjoyed this episode and would hope for another anime-only experience, but we're getting one next week which features Fay and..... CHI!!!!
This anime is finally living up to it's potential. Can't wait for next week!

Tsubasa Chronicle Episode 30 Impression
I was really impressed with this episode! It featured an anime only world and was a kind of sequel to Episode 26 (the first season finale). The story was very well done, showing us the realities of death, we saw some real Clow Reed moments and Yuko appeared again and looked just like she does in the xxxHolic series! Great character design this week!
I couldn't really find anything that wrong with this episode. Because it was a one episode arc the pace was fast and it flowed wonderfully!
Next week is ANOTHER anime-only world! Bring it on, I say!

Tsubasa Chronicle Episode Titles
Ugh... Google translated the next three episode titles as:
30:
It dates with the ketsui (the anime-only dragon ep)
31:
Magic teacher of the sad (Lecourt?!? I know there's a lot of magic there. Are they skipping Sharano Country again?)
32:
Boy (
Possibly refering to Syaoran?)

Tsubasa Chronicle Episode 29 Impression
Wow! You won't believe this but the whole Piffle arc was wrapped up in this episode making it three episodes long! Niiice! Let's hope Bee Train can keep this up for the rest of the season. While the last episode was a bit slow I'm pretty sure watching all three piffle episodes as a whole will make the whole thing flow a LOT better (as with most Tsubasa arcs). BeeTrains seems to be attacking Tsubasa like a book. Read a random chapter and the story goes nowhere, read an entire act in one sitting and it's a completely different experience.
Anyway, as for this episode as a whole the animation was rather good overall though Ryou-ou did see a return of his one-tooth-fang look from last week that simply looks stupid. Good action sequences, no wierd looking faces I was actually suprised by the explosion at the end!
Something that I've thought about before but was reminded of while watching this episode is that Kurogane and Sakura really don't interact at all. In the scene where Kurogane helps her, it reminded me of one of the final episodes of the first season of LOST when Claire asked Sawyer about the raft. It was like episode 20 or something and the two characters had never spoken up until that point. But unlike Claire and Sawyer I felt a bit of chemistry between Sakura and Kurogane. Call me crazy but I hope the writers do something there... but I know they won't.
Something to think about.
Ah, and guess what? Next episode looks like an anime exclusive world! That'll be interesting to see as the first anime only world on the first season sucked and the second one rocked. I wonder which way this'll go? Seems to feature lots of fighting and a huge dragon.

Tsubasa Chronicle Episode 28 Impression
Well... it was good while it lasted. While the second season premiere seemed to have solved most of the problems from season one, most of those problems return with the second season's second episode, namely the "animated panning still shot" where the animators fill up a good minute or so by simply drawing one group pic, pan the camera from left to right and just animate the character's mouths. The last episode had
none of these but seriously, every shot in this episode was like this... and the episode suffered. A lot.
I will give the animators credit where it's due though and say that all the character's looked like themeselves. Not one odd looking person in this episode. Syaoran and Ryuu-ou in particular looked great as did Tomoyo.
The music was great as always but this episode had some very questionable sound editing going on. For example, very early in the ep there's a 10 minute or so long scene with a lot of characters talking and right in the middle for no reason at all, the funky music starts playing in the background. It's like someone realised how boring the scene was and pressed play in the editing suit.
A very disapointing episode. A lot of wasted screentime where almost half of the episode could have been cut. Such a let down.
