Episode 23

Holy crap that was a great episode! Not only do we get the Saoran and Sephiro flashback from the manga, but also three very emotional death scenes (which would have come as a suprise had some irresponsible posters ruin it for me). The English manga is not up to this point yet, so almost everything (with the exception of the flashback, which was taken from an earlier volume of the manga) will be new for most viewers.

This episode seems to be purely driving the plot forward. No more "let's base an episode, mid arc, all about Sakura" that we got earlier in Outo and at the begining of this season in Hanshin. I couldn't really think of that much filler at all really. Great animation (check out the character designs in this ep compared to the Hanshin arc. Suprisingly different!) and that music... wow!

Kurogane fans should love next episode (that means me!) and it is unclear if it will be the last Outo episode. As it stands, this will be the 7th episode in the Outo arc, though what an arc! Could be an 8 episode arc if next week is the conclusion, or a 9 if it isn't. Also worth noting, there are only 3 more episodes left this season. If they wanted to extend the Outo arc more over the next 3 episodes (up to episode 26), the season finale could be the Outo finale or a finale and a cliffhanger with the gang arriving in the next world. Hmmm...

Future Soundscape II CD Review

Just bought this is the shop under my gym and am listening to it right now! If you loved the first Future Soundtrack CD, you'll go ballistic over this one! EVERY song on this disk stands on it's own as opposed to only 2/3rds of the first one kicking arse, this one kicks the whole body!

First of all, I must mention the breathtaking cover! The first one was cool, but this one is simply beautiful! Amazing colours and a much more emotionally deep theme than the first CDs cliche action pose.

Now, I know the question everyone wants to ask and YES, the bar song from the Outo arc is on the CD and (actually I'm listening to it now) at 5:01 mins running time, it's worth the price of the cd on it's own!

...I honestly don't know how to write this review. I'll be saying the same about every song on it. I can't express how impressed I am with this purchase!

I'll upload it to our radio station soon for everyone to listen to.

p.s. I know I'm behind in reviews! I've been up to my ears working on my Sailormoon site; Moonkitty.NET. If you're a fan of any version of Sailormoon, you should check it out!

Episode 20

Wow, only 6 more episodes left this season! Time sure has flown, huh?

This episode was intresting for me as I'm only up to Volume 6 of the Tsubasa manga (the latest issue) so I'm not really sure, what was changed with this episode, what was new and what was done well from the manga. It does seem however that a fair bit has been moved around. For example, Kurogane has started training Saoran but we have also been introduced to a potential new villian for our group. We have yet to, however see how Saoran knows the mysterious character in the cloak and we havn't been blessed with the drinking scene that everyone's hanging out for (me too!).

Great animation, though the expressions with Saoran and Kurogane were a bit, well, boring actually. Sakura has also started to annoy me as well. Her voice is again starting to grate and she's just so boring! A frustrating scene was when Sakura is almost whispering in a monotonous voice to some customers (Touya and Yuki) and Mokona exclaims how happy she is. WTF?!? If that's happy, excited Sakura, don't let me be near her when she's depressed. :o
